Rejection after rejection often times results in you developing fear of cold calling. In our culture to be rejected means to be a failure, so we do our best in order to avoid this feeling.

cold callingHowever, without failure you cannot grow. And the feeling of growth is a wonderful feeling to have.

Growth gives you the sense of self-worth, and gives you new opportunities to enjoy your life better.

So you have to face your fear. In this case the fear of cold calling is your obstacle from getting positive feelings you deserve.

With these 7 steps, you will overcome your fear of cold calling:

1. Get an easy to follow plan, and measure your results often.

2. Realize that this problem is just in your head. Rejections in cold calling cannot hurt you in a real way.

3. Rejection only lasts for few seconds, and a successful cold call gives you joy that lasts much longer.

4. Set clear goals on how many cold calls you want to make.

5. Reward yourself after doing these cold calls, so that you will get pleasure from cold calling no matter what.

6. Don’t focus on the outcome, enjoy experience you get from cold calling, and use it to your advantage. The biggest wealth you can get from your business is the wealth of knowledge.

7. Stick to your method, decide to follow through on you decision, and put your back against the wall. You can do that by getting an accountability buddy to whom you will report back to.

You won’t be perfect right away, but practice makes perfect. Practice overcoming your fear of cold calling often, and over time you will get excited at the thought of doing cold calls instead of feeling resistance and fear.
